Support When It Matters Most

As Chi Omegas, we take an oath to support each other and promise to be there when it matters the most. Over the past year and a half, we have been there for one another, especially for our collegiate Sisters as many facets of their campus and Chi Omega experience were changed.

For the first time in Chi Omega's 126-year history, Firesides Leadership Training was conducted virtually in the year 2021. One benefit of the shift to virtual was that each chapter's entire executive board, specific Cardinal Cabinet positions, and up to four advisors could participate – making it the largest national officer training in Chi Omega's history, and we hope to continue it. Chapter leaders walked away fully trained and prepared for their unique role during the coming year.

Kamryn Dow serves as G.H. for the Iota Lambda chapter at Villanova and shared this about her 2021 experience, "This year's Firesides Leadership Training transformed the way I lead my chapter. The words civility and grace echo through my head when I am faced with any problem. Instead of leading first and foremost with logic, I lead by keeping my Sisters and this organization ever at heart. While this year's executive board was faced with problems unknown to past executive boards, we approached decisions with civility and grace."

The virtual format for Firesides Leadership Training was a huge success and equipped Sisters with tactical, applicable tools to identify, address, and begin to resolve concerns within their chapter, keeping the welfare of our Sisters ever at heart. In an ever-evolving world, Firesides Leadership Training and other leadership programs, risk management education, membership development curriculum, and scholarships, which impact our members' academic success as well as safety and well-being, are vital for the success of our Sisters.
